This is the band that no metal fan can't deny is a must listen to band. It's called Pantera.
I came across this band when I was at college through a friend. At first, I felt my head go numb when I listened to the title song of the album 'Cowboys from hell' and my head is still ringing. That is when I got the taste of great guitar shredding and riffing and the whole song, the vocal styles, the drums, the total song is totally awesome.
Then, I started to listen to their albums and I can't describe how thankful I am to them for taking out such great records. And, I am equally sad for the untimely demise of the guitar god DIMEBAG. The world has lost a precious gem. Though, his light still signs bright.
I recommend everybody who loves metal music to listen to their every albums available.

Metallica
The most famous metal band ever, METALLICA. They are the living legends of metal. Their recent albums are not as good enough as their old ones though the fans support them no matter how down they are.
Old albums like, 'Ride the lightning', 'Master of Puppets' have left a great impression on my mind any many other metal fans, that is why metallica is metallica.
Other albums are also quite good but I prefer the old ones. Master of puppets is their best selling album.
The current band members of Metallica are:
James Hetfield (vocals & guitars)
Kirk Hammet (Lead guitar)
Robert Trujillo (Bass guitar)
Lars Ulrich (Drums)
Metallica's got one helluva history. They've been around since 80's or may be a little before that. They used to be an underground playing gigs at clubs and local parties later they decided to go mainstream. And, that is when their bumpy ride started.
Initially, the band members were James on lead vocals and guitar, Lars on drums, Dave Mustaine on lead guitar and Ron Mcgovney on bass guitar.
Later, Dave became too much to handle for the band so he was fired from the band and then Kirk Hammet replaced him. And, Cliff Burton replaced Ron Mcgovney. They recorded a few albums together and after that Cliff Burton died in a tragic accident and they had to find a new bassist and in came Jason Newstead after 40 auditions.
Then, the ride went smooth for a long time. But, after a long period of time, everyone was tired and went on vacation but Jason had some other ideas and kept recording in the studio, got out his solo album out in the market leaving the band very angry which made them fire him. Then, another bassist came in the band recommended by Ozzy Osbourne, 'Robert Trujillo'.
They recorded 'St. Anger' and recently 'Death Magnetic' together and for now, everything's fine. But, still I miss the old Metallica. Hope they'll release something better next time.
Till then,
bang ur heads till u bleed.......
